Description
The SpeedyBee F405 V4 is an updated version, with a BLS 55A 4-in-1 ESC speed controller, STM32F405 MCU processor and ICM42688P gyroscope for more precise control. The compact F405 V4 flight controller supports Bluetooth configuration and a 6S LiPo power supply, making it a versatile choice for FPV enthusiasts. Combined with the SpeedyBee BLS 55A 4-in-1 ESC, which provides up to 55A of continuous current, these components provide a powerful and reliable drone.
The SpeedyBee F405 V4 stack has received several important updates.
New Gyroscope: The MCU on the flight controller remains the STM32F405, but the gyro has been changed from BMI270 to ICM-42688P. The manufacturers have successfully integrated a power supply for this gyro and added a 100uF tantalum capacitor. This minimizes interference from the power supply, promising cleaner gyro data and simplified PID/filter setup. Both gyroscopes have good performance under the latest Betaflight firmware.
SD Card Reader for DVR: The SD card issues in V3 have been resolved in V4 by allocating a separate SPI for OSD and SD card. This allows you to enjoy uninterrupted black box recording, which is a big improvement for many pilots.
Full DShot Support in iNav: The DShot issues in the previous version have been resolved in V4, providing full DShot support on all 8 motor outputs, making it fully compatible with iNav.
Improved BEC Outputs: The integrated 5V and 9V BECs have been improved from 2A to 3A, which is especially important for HD system users.
Improved 4-in-1 ESC: The 4-in-1 ESC has been improved in many aspects, including a rated current of 55A and the ability to withstand surges of up to 70A. An additional metal heat sink and the selection of MOSFETs with lower internal resistance improve thermal management during difficult flights.
